DURHAM, N.C. – Duke senior defender Maura Schwitter was named an honorable mention All-America selection by Inside Lacrosse, as announced by the publication Wednesday.

The inaugural three teams and honorable mention selections were compiled by members of the lacrosse media who vote in the weekly Cascade Division I Women's Media Poll.

Schwitter's honorable mention recognition comes after she was tabbed to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-South Region team along with junior midfielder Maddie Crutchfield last week.

Schwitter ranked among the ACC leaders in ground balls per game (2.44) in 2017 while leading Duke in that category (39). She also paced the Blue Devils in caused turnovers (22) and ranked second on the squad in draw controls (50) and added a career-high three goals. A native of Oradell, N.J., Schwitter surpassed the 100 draw control milestone for her career this spring, making her one of just nine players in program history to total 100 career draw controls and 50 caused turnovers.

Schwitter notched a career-high seven ground balls March 18 at Penn and followed up that performance with a career-high four caused turnover outing at Virginia March 25.

An All-ACC and All-South Team honoree for the second consecutive season, Schwitter was also tabbed to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week Feb. 21.
