DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s lacrosse program led all ACC institutions with eight selections to the 2017 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the organization Wednesday.
Duke was one of just nine schools nationwide with eight or more student-athletes on the 2017 edition of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. In addition, the eight selections also matched a program record.
Helen Cammerzell, Maddie Crutchfield, Kyra Harney, Stuart Humphrey, Isabelle Montagne, Devon Russell, Hayley Shaffer and Breezy Thomas were among the student-athletes from 99 different institutions to be recognized with the academic honor. In order to be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
Recent Blue Devil graduates Cammerzell, Humphrey, Montagne, Russell and Shaffer were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive season. All five graduated from Duke in May as four-year members of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Duke was also listed as an Academic Honor Squad for the 2017 campaign Wednesday. The program was one of 300 schools across Division I, II, III and NAIA to be recognized for earning a team GPA of 3.0 or higher for the academic year.
