DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women’s lacrosse team received the No. 6 seed in this week’s ACC Championship and will face No. 3 seed Virginia Tech Thursday at 8 p.m. in Koskinen Stadium.
The Blue Devils will host the conference championship at Koskinen for the third time in program history and first time since 2012.
Duke, ranked 22nd in the latest Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Division I Coaches Poll, enters the tournament with a 7-8 ledger and a 2-5 mark in league play following a 20-10 loss to North Carolina in Saturday’s ACC regular season finale. The 12th-ranked Hokies head to Durham with a 12-5 overall record and a 5-2 mark in ACC play following a 16-12 victory over Virginia Saturday.
Virginia Tech claimed the regular season meeting between the squads, a 17-14 decision in Blacksburg Feb. 24.
Other quarterfinal matchups include No. 1 seed Boston College (17-0, 7-0 ACC) against No. 8 seed Louisville (6-10, 0-7 ACC), No. 2 seed North Carolina (12-3, 6-1 ACC) against No. 7 seed Syracuse (9-8, 1-6 ACC) and No. 4 seed Virginia (9-8, 4-3 ACC) against No. 5 seed Notre Dame (9-7, 3-4 ACC).
Friday’s semifinals are slated for 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and the championship game for Sunday at 1 p.m. All seven tournament contests will be televised on the ACC’s Regional Sports Network (RSN) and ACC Network Extra.
All seating at Koskinen Stadium is general admission. Adult tickets to all sessions of the tournament are $20 while individual day passes are available for $8. Admission is free for students of ACC institutions with a school ID, as well as for those ages 18 and under. Advance ticket sales are available at goduke.com/tickets.
