DURHAM, N.C. – An ACC-leading eight Blue Devils have been selected for 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division I Academic Honor Roll recognition, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association Monday.

Duke was one of just 13 institutions nationwide with eight or more student-athletes on the 2018 edition of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, with the eight selections matching the program record set by the Blue Devils last year.

Recent Duke University graduates Maddie Crutchfield and Kyra Harney and rising Blue Devil seniors Elizabeth Fucigna, Chlöe Lewis, Jamie Lockwood, Ellie Majure, Michelle Staggers and Charlotte Tucci were among the 462 student-athletes from 105 different institutions on the 2018 IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.  To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Crutchfield and Harney were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive season, with both Blue Devils also earning a spot on the 2018 All-ACC Academic Team.

In addition, head coach Kerstin Kimel’s team was tabbed a Division I Academic Honor Squad by the IWLCA for the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify as an Academic Honor Squad, teams must post a 3.0 or higher grade point average for the academic year.
