Jenner and Rubin, who were first named to the 2019 U.S. U19 training team in August, will take part in the training weekend Jan. 25-27, 2019. The Spring Premiere will feature six teams – the U.S. senior and U19 squads, as well as teams from England, Japan, Fresno State and Stanford.
The U.S. is building towards next summer’s Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s U19 World Championship, which will be held Aug. 1-10, 2019 in Peterborough, Canada.
Before coming to Durham to join older sister Olivia Jenner at Duke, Maddie wrapped up her high school career at McDonogh by earning a spot in the 2018 Under Armour All-America Game. She helped lead McDonogh to three IAAM Conference titles and was a three-time all-conference selection. Jenner was also a first team all-metro pick in addition to being named the All-USA Today and Baltimore Sun All-Metro Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year as a junior. An attacker and draw control specialist, she totaled 137 goals and 59 assists over her four seasons.
Rubin came to Durham from Bryn Mawr School, where she was a three-time all-conference selection. She recorded 174 goals, 112 ground balls and 200 draw controls over her four seasons, including 59 goals and 82 draw controls her senior year. Rubin was included in Inside Lacrosse’s Top Young Gun rankings as a junior and senior and collected first team All-Metro accolades her senior season.
This fall, Jenner and Rubin were tabbed No. 4 and No. 44, respectively, on ILWomen’s Class of 2018 Power 100 list, helping to comprise the fourth-ranked freshman class in the nation.
The Blue Devils open the 2019 campaign Feb. 9, 2019 against Villanova at Koskinen Stadium.
