DURHAM, N.C. – Fresh off of a six-goal, four-draw control performance in Wednesday evening’s thrilling ACC quarterfinal victory, senior attacker Olivia Jenner has been named one of 25 women’s nominees for the 2019 Tewaaraton Award, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation Thursday.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top women’s and men’s college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

After being selected to the 2019 All-ACC First Team earlier this week, Jenner was selected a Tewaaraton nominee for the first time in her career. She was named to the award watch list as a junior last season.

Jenner has made the most of her senior season, headlining a draw control unit that ranked third in the country entering this week with an average of 18 draw controls per game. Individually, the Annapolis, Md., native was 10th nationally this week (7.13 dc/game) and owns a team-best 118 draw controls through 17 contests. She combined with sister Maddie Jenner to win 10 of the Blue Devils’ 14 draws in Wednesday’s win over sixth-ranked Notre Dame.

Olivia Jenner has also put together an impressive senior campaign at the attacking end, ranking second on the squad in goals (53) and points (74). She is also tied for first with teammate Charlotte North with 21 assists on the spring. Jenner’s six tallies – including the eventual game winner inside the final five minutes – Wednesday night matched her career high and marked her 11th hat trick of the season.

Over the course of her senior season, Jenner has surpassed the 400-draw control mark, as well as the 100 goal and points milestones for her career.

Five women's and five men's finalists for the 2019 Tewaaraton Award will be announced May 9 and invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony in Washington D.C. May 30.

Jenner and the sixth-seeded Blue Devils face second-seeded North Carolina in Friday’s ACC semifinals. The contest is slated for an 8 p.m. opening draw on RSN and ACC Network Extra from Boston College’s Alumni Stadium.
