What is your best lacrosse memory?

MD: Winning two overtime games against our biggest rival in my final high school season, including a comeback victory on senior night.

When did you start playing lacrosse?

MD: I first started playing lacrosse the summer going into fourth grade at a summer camp with Coach Kimel. That summer, I quit gymnastics and with all my new-found free time I picked up pretty much any sport I could get my hands on. Very quickly, I fell in love with lacrosse.

Who has had the largest impact on your life?

MD: I’d have to say my parents. Without them, I would not be the student, athlete, friend or person I am today. They’ve taught me how to be the best person I can possibly be, and how to invest myself fully into everything that I do.

Why did you choose Duke?

MD: It’s been my lifelong dream to go to Duke. When the pieces fell in place, I couldn’t possibly not choose Duke. Coach Kimel and the rest of the staff do an outstanding job of encouraging the pursuit of both academic and athletic greatness.

What are your goals for your collegiate career?

MD: To become the best player and teammate I can possibly be, and to help my team find success on a national stage.

Quick Hitters:

Favorite athlete: Jordan Spieth

Hobbies: Jogging, hiking, eating, watching college and professional sports, listening to country music, water skiing

Favorite TV show: Grey's Anatomy

Favorite movie: Miracle

If you were to play another sport, what would it be? Golf

Hidden talent: I speak (and am still learning) Chinese

Best advice you’ve received: Just do the best you can. No matter what, the sun will rise tomorrow morning.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Hopefully having successfully graduated undergrad and graduate school, with a fun job, maybe a dog and living a happy life.

To be a part of the Duke women’s lacrosse program is … an incredible honor and a dream come true.
