ATLANTA, Ga. – The accolades keep rolling in for Duke University women’s basketball’s fifth-year senior Lexie Brown as she was tabbed to the Citizen Naismith Trophy late season team, as announced Monday by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.

Brown, a product of Suwanne, Ga., is one of 30 student-athletes in the running for the Citizen Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year honor. On the season, she is averaging 19.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.6 steals for the 17th-ranked Blue Devils. Brown is one of the best all-around players in the nation.

In the ACC, Brown currently ranks second in scoring, first in steals, ninth in assists, sixth in free throw percentage (82.8), 10th in three-point field goal percentage (39.9) and tied ninth in three-point field goals made (2.2). The 5-9 guard also ranks seventh nationally in steals and 34th in scoring. Brown’s streak of 25 straight games with a three-pointer has tied a school record and is tied for the second-longest mark in the NCAA among power five conferences.

From this list, the Naismith Awards Board of Selectors will identify the 10 national semifinalists, to be announced on Feb. 26. Then, four finalists will be revealed on March 14. Fans will be able to support their favorite player by visiting naismithtrophy.com/vote between March 19-30 to cast their ballot, and the fan component counts for 5 percent of the overall final vote. The Citizen Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year will be announced on March 31.

Brown is also a Wade Watch Mid-Season Candidate, Senior CLASS Award finalist, John R. Wooden Award late season top 20 selection, Nancy Lieberman Award top 10 honoree and Dawn Staley Top 15 candidate.

Duke will next travel to Syracuse, N.Y., to face the Orange Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., live on RSN-TV.
