DURHAM, N.C.—The Duke University wrestling team spent its most recent Sunday morning giving back to the Durham community, donating their time and cooking skills at the Urban Ministries of Durham.
The Blue Devils, regularly active in giving their time to the local community, helped prepare and served breakfast to those in Durham. Duke did everything from preparing eggs and grits, breakfast pastries as well as breakfast meat to give the patrons a good Sunday breakfast.
The Urban Ministries of Durham is a program that connects with the community to end homelessness and fight poverty by offering food, shelter and a future to neighbors in need. The organization serves meals to the poor and homeless in Durham and relies on volunteers to help prepare the meals and Duke wrestling is just a small part of the collection of people who help.
Duke wrestling has often donated its time to the Urban Ministries of Durham as well as with children from the local hospitals. Many Blue Devils also teach young kids from the area wrestling during the year as a way to give back to the sport that has given them so much.
