STANFORD, Calif. – Senior distance runner Anima Banks represented the Duke track & field program at the Payton Jordan Invitational Sunday in Stanford, Calif., running against an elite field in the women’s 800.

Competing against some of best collegiate and professional runners in the world, Banks clocked an outdoor personal-best time of 2:04.38 to place third in her section and register the 18th-fastest time across the six women’s 800 heats. Banks led the pack halfway through the race, posting a 1:00.00 split through the first 400, then followed with a 1:04.38 on her second and final lap.
