DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke Invitational kicked off on Friday in Wallace Wade Stadium, as nearly 1,900 athletes began competing from 93 teams. The competitors will make up over 3,000 entries during the two-day meet. Results can be found on www.flashresults.com/duke.

Women’s: On Friday afternoon, freshman Amy Fryt vaulted a personal best 11’-11.75.” That qualified her for the ECAC’s for the first time in her outdoor collegiate career and improved upon her fifth-best vault in school history. The NCAA regional standard in the pole vault is 12’-7.5,” which will be Fryt’s next challenge as the season rolls on.

A Look Ahead: The Duke Invitational will continue until 9:45 p.m. tonight and on Saturday with events from 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. Freshman Christy Adamyk is also in Stanford, Calif., to run in the 5,000m tonight at 9:15 p.m. ET.
