DURHAM, N.C. -- Four current Duke University men's golfers -- seniors Alex Smalley and Shrish Dwivedi and juniors Chandler Eaton and Steven DiLisio -- will tee it up beginning Monday at the 119th U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course in Pebble Beach. The championship runs through next Sunday.
In all, 312 players will compete in stroke play the first two days with the field then cut to the low 64 for match play. All match play will be held at Pebble Beach. The round of 64 will be August 15, both the rounds of 32 & 16 on August 16, the quarterfinals on August 17 with the semis on August 18. The final match play for the title will be a 36-hole match on Sunday, August 19.
Smalley, a rising senior, is competing in his third straight U.S. Amateur and tees off the 10th hole at Pebble Beach Monday at 1:06 p.m. ET. He reached stroke play last year and was the stroke play medalist at the 2016 U.S. Amateur. Smalley qualified that to his World Amateur rank.
Dwivedi is off the first hole at Pebble Beach tomorrow at 9:04 a.m. ET. DiLisio hits the first tee at Spyglass Monday at 1:48 p.m. ET, while Eaton starts on the first at Pebble Beach on Monday at 9:15 a.m. ET.
Results and live scoring will be available at usga.org. The U.S. Amateur was first played in 1895 and is the oldest championship contested by the United States Golf Association. FS1 will have live coverage on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with coverage moving to FOX on the weekend.
