DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke golfer Adam Long has earned his PGA Tour card for next season, and is one of three former Blue Devils headed to the Web.com Tour Finals that begin this week in Columbus, Ohio.
On the PGA Tour, alums Kevin Streelman and Ryan Blaum have qualified for the the FedEx Cup Playoffs, which begin this week at the Northern Trust in Paramus, N.J. The FedExCup Playoffs will feature a progressive cut through the first three events to determine the final 30 players who qualify for the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Long finished 13th on the Web.com’s regular-season money list, with the top 25 finishers earning their PGA Tour card. Wes Roach, who just missed the top 25 at 28th, is also headed to the Web.com Tour Finals, along with Julian Suri.
Suri capped his impressive regular season with a T-19 at the PGA Championship – his third career major start. That came on the heels of a T-28 at the Open Championship in July. Suri was the sixth-highest finisher on the FedEx Cup points list for non-PGA Tour members. He has full status on the European Tour and will attempt to achieve full-time PGA Tour status through the Web.com Finals.
To gain their PGA Tour card, Suri and Roach would need to be among the 25 players earning the most cumulative points in the four Finals events.
