WEST DEMOINES, Iowa – Duke University two-time All-America Brittany Lang and the United States captured the 2017 Solheim Cup over the weekend in West Des Moines, Iowa as the squad totaled a 16.5 to 11.5 victory over Team Europe. The five-point victory margin was the USA's largest win since 1996.

Lang dropped her singles match on Sunday, 1-up, to Charley Hull of Europe, but went 2-0 in afternoon four-ball matches on Friday and Saturday on her way to posting a 2-1 record over the three days of action.

The United States built a 10.5 to 5.5 lead after Saturday’s play, which marked the first two-day lead since 1998 for the U.S. The squad needed only four points in Sunday’s singles matches to win the cup outright.

Lang, who played at Duke in 2004 and 2005, was competing in her fifth straight Solheim Cup.
