DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University senior Leona Maguire will be one of 192 golfers that will tee it up Oct. 19-23 at Stage II of LPGA Qualifying Tournament, which will be played at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Florida, on both the Bobcat and Panther courses.

The low 80 and ties following the final round will advance to the final stage of qualifying. There is no cut and the golfers that do not finish in the top 80 will still have Symetra Tour membership for the 2018 campaign.

Maguire, a product of Cavan, Ireland, is using this event to obtain full status on the Symetra Tour for the 2018 season.

The No. 1 ranked amateur golfer in the world, Maguire headlines the field that also includes former Duke golfers Alejandra Cangrejo and Sandy Choi.

Maguire is coming off claiming her second win out of three tournaments this fall and now owns nine collegiate victories over her four years with the Blue Devils. She currently boasts a 68.78 stroke average and is ranked No. 6 in the latest Golfweek Individual Rankings. Maguire is a two-time WGCA and ANNIKA Award winner as National Player of the Year.

Play will begin at 8:00 a.m. all four days of the tournament and tickets are free. Parking is also available on-site at Plantation Golf & Country Club.

Following the completion of qualifying, Maguire and the Blue Devils will next travel to the Landfall Tradition, which will take place Oct. 27-29 in Wilmington, N.C.
