DURHAM, N.C. – The Symetra Tour will kick off action this week in the state of Florida with three former Duke women’s golfers seeing action at the Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club from March 7-10 in North Port, Fla. Teeing off this week will be Laetitia Beck, Sandy Choi and Leona Maguire with Duke ties.
The SKYiGOLF Championship will feature a field of 132 golfers that will complete 18 holes each day for a purse of $250,000.
Both Beck and Choi helped lead Duke to the 2014 NCAA Championship in Tulsa, Okla.
Beck, a 2014 Blue Devil graduate, was a two-time All-America during her time at Duke. She competed the last three seasons on the LPGA Tour earning $278,328. Beck made 11 cuts a year ago and placed 10th at the season-opening Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.
A 2016 Duke graduate, Choi earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades as a senior with the Blue Devils. She enters her second year on the Symetra Tour, after three top 20 placements a year ago.
Maguire was a three-time NCAA National Player of the Year and collected rewrote the Duke record books with 10 victories, 87 rounds of even or under par and 32 rounds in the 60s over four seasons with the Blue Devils. Maguire, a 2018 Duke graduate, is coming off back-to-back top 20 finishes on the Ladies European Tour in Australia.
