WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Led by Duke signee Erica Shepherd, the East Squad took down the West, 27.5 to 22.5, this week at the Wyndham Cup played at the Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, N.C. Over the span of three days, Shepherd collected a 2-2 record.

Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., and the East squad led by five points heading into the final day of action, which was singles play. Both teams collected 10 points each in singles as the East took back the cup from the West, after it won in 2018.

The Wyndham Cup is an annual team match play competition featuring the 18-best male and female junior golfers from the East versus their counterparts from the West. East/West teams are based on members’ U.S. addresses. The country dividing line runs from the eastern border of Texas and extends northward through the eastern border of North Dakota. Wyndham Cup teams were determined based upon the AJGA Rankings.

Next up on Shepherd’s schedule is the Donald Ross Classic on the Symetra Tour from July 11-13 in French Lick, Ind.
