DURHAM, N.C. – The ANNIKA Award Watch List has been trimmed to 15 golfers with Duke University sophomore Jaravee Boonchant one of those selected, which was announced this week.
The list was trimmed from 25 to 15 this week leading up to the regional action, will take place May 6-8.
Along with Boonchant on the list is Frida Kinhult (Florida State), Andrea Lee (Stanford), Jennifer Kupcho (Wake Forest), Emilia Migliaccio (Wake Forest), Patty Tavatanakit (UCLA), Albane Valenzuela (Stanford), Mariel Galdiano (UCLA), Jiwon Jeon (Alabama), Maria Fassi (Arkansas), Jennifer Chang (USC), Sofia Garcia (Texas Tech), Julie McCarthy (Auburn), Malia Nam (USC) and Emily Price (South Carolina).
A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Boonchant is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest Golfweek Individual ledger, while owning a team-best 72.13 stroke average. She has collected two top five, five top 10 and six top 20 finishes out of eight tournaments on the year. Boonchant owns 13 rounds of even or under par to go along with six rounds in the 60s. She is coming off a fourth place finish at the ACC Championship.
The Final Watch List will be released after NCAA Regionals and will be narrowed to the Top 10 players. Voting will open to players, coaches, SID's, and college golf media on May 9th.
Duke was seeded No. 1 in the Auburn Regional and will head to Opelika, Ala., May 6-8 to compete in its 27th consecutive regional competition. The Blue Devils were seeded No. 1 for the 12th time out of the last 19 years (2018, 2014, 2013, 2010, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2001 and 2000.
