DURHAM, N.C.— With it being only 30 days until the start of the 2018-19 Duke women’s basketball season, what a better way celebrate than to check in with sophomore Emily Schubert.
Our No. 30, Schubert hails from Elizabethton, Tenn., and saw action in six games last season, following missing the 2016-17 campaign due to a torn ACL.
GoDuke.com: What did you do over the summer?
Emily Schubert: This summer I spent time at home with my family, worked out, and enjoyed time at the beach! I really missed my sisters!
GD: How nice was it being back on the court last year, after suffering a torn ACL as a rookie the year before?
ES: It was an incredible feeling being back on the court with my teammates last year after a long road of rehab! Playing in Cameron is a feeling like no other!
GD: What part of your game did you work on the most during the summer?ES
ES: This summer I worked a lot on my mid-range short corner and elbow jump shot.
GD: How have workouts and practices been so far this season?
ES: So far, workouts and practices have been really competitive. It's been good to see our team progressing so quickly! We are all really excited to see how good we can be!
