DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior linebacker Koby Quansah underwent surgery on Thursday to address a fractured fifth metatarsal bone in his left foot and will be out of action indefinitely.

Quansah, who in five games this year recorded 14 tackles including a season-high nine stops in Duke’s season-opening win over Army West Point, suffered the injury on Wednesday during practice.

The Manchester, Conn., native has played in 30 career games with the Blue Devils, earning four starting assignments while compiling 78 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one pass breakup, two caused fumbles, one fumble recovery and six quarterback pressures.

The surgical procedure was performed by Dr. Annunziato Amendola.

Duke (4-1, 0-1 ACC) returns to action on Saturday with a road contest at Georgia Tech (3-3, 1-2 ACC).
