DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University Vice President and Director of Athletics Kevin White announced on Friday the promotion of three athletic department members, Nina King, Jon Jackson and Art Chase.

King advances into the role of Senior Deputy Director of Athletics/Administration, Legal Affairs and Chief of Staff, adds the primary administrative duties for the Blue Devil football program to her responsibilities and, in this capacity, joins fellow Senior Deputy Director Chris Kennedy in facilitating the daily operation of the department.  A 2000 graduate of Notre Dame, King joined Duke Athletics in September of 2008.

Jackson elevates into the Deputy Director of Athletics/Men’s Basketball, Blue Devil Network and Digital Media role after directing the department’s External Affairs unit for the past five years.  In the new position, he will handle the primary administrative duties for the men’s basketball program while overseeing the Blue Devil Network and Digital Media areas.  A member of the Duke staff since January of 2000, Jackson is a 1990 graduate of Penn State University.

Chase earns promotion to Senior Associate Director of Athletics/External Affairs following a one-year stint as an associate director.  He will oversee the department’s Marketing, Photography, Sports Information and Ticket Operations sectors and handle the primary administrative duties for the wrestling program while continuing to be the lead communications contact and secondary administrator for the Blue Devil football program.  Chase, who joined the Duke staff in August of 2000, graduated from Guilford College in 1991.
