Mental Wealth Day #LiveFreePlayFree
Join the Blue Devils for the first collegiate event for mental health awareness. Duke women’s basketball has partnered with the JED Foundation and the NBA to make this event possible.
The JED Foundation is a nonprofit that exists to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults. We’re partnering with high schools and colleges to strengthen their mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention programs and systems.
The NBA Cares program - The NBA CARES Mind Health programs supports fans, families, and communities by promoting healthy minds and bodies and increasing awareness around emotional well-being.
As part of this event, fans will be able to come hear former Tennessee women’s basketball player and WNBA star, Chamique Holdsclaw speak about her personal struggles with mental health and her advocacy for the JED program. The speaking engagement will be hosted by Duke Universities CAPS Director, Dr. Danielle Oakley. The keynote speaker session will take place prior to the game. Registration information will be available soon. For questions email the Duke Sports Marketing Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Early arriving fans will get a limited edition #LiveFreePlayFree t-shirt. More details on the Mental Health game will be released in the coming days.
