DURHAM, N.C. – Beth Miller has been named the Director of Sports Nutrition for Duke Athletics, announced on Thursday by Vice President and Director of Athletics Kevin White.
“We are excited to welcome Beth to the Duke as an integral part of our Integrative Performance Excellence Initiative,” said Gerald Harrison, Duke’s Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Internal Affairs. “There is no doubt that as Director of Sports Nutrition, Beth will draw from her championship-level experiences at Tennessee, Florida State and UCLA to provide outstanding service to our student-athletes.”
In this role, Miller is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and managing all performance nutrition services provided to student-athletes representing intercollegiate athletic teams. She will provide individual as well as team nutrition education and counseling to enhance the health and performance of all athletes. In addition, Miller will coordinate meals, snacks and competition fueling for all competitions.
Miller came to Durham following two years at UCLA where she served as the Performance Nutrition Coordinator with the Bruins.
A native of Watertown, Wisc., Miller graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 2013 with a degree in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics. While at Tennessee Tech, Miller was a multi-sport student-athlete, participating in cross country, softball and track and field.
Miller later earned a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology/Sports Nutrition from Florida State University in 2015. She is a registered dietitian, and previously worked in the sports nutrition departments at Florida State University and University of Tennessee.
