Duke Hosts Sixth Annual STARS Banquet

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke University Athletic Association presented 13 awards Monday, April 23 at the sixth annual Student-Athlete Talent and Recognition Show (STARS). The event, hosted by Jaida Lemmons (junior, track & field) and Ben Silverman (senior, men’s golf) in Penn Pavilion, recognized athletic, academic and service achievements and top moments from 2017-18.

Awards ranged from the Funniest Action Shot to Unsung Hero and Duke Athletics MVP, and were nominated and voted upon solely by the Blue Devil student-athletes. Recipients of the Heidrick Family Postgraduate Scholarships, ACC Top Six for Service Awards and the ACC Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year were also honored during the event.

Mixed in with award presentations were live performances by several student-athletes and videos featuring a number of Duke squads.
