DURHAM, N.C., - The Blue Devils picked up their second ACC win at home and lost a close buzz-beater on the road this week. Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki became the eighth player in program history with her triple-double Sunday afternoon, and freshman Miela Goodchild tied a Duke freshman record for most three-pointers in a game. The Blue Devils will travel down Tobacco Road this week to play rival North Carolina, but before that it’s time to check out this week’s blueprints.

The Blue Devils fell on the road to Boston College, 92-90, in a double-overtime thriller. The Eagles connected on a jumper with .3 seconds left on the clock to win only the second double-overtime contest in school history. Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki registered a double-double with 24 points and a career-high 14 rebounds. Freshman Miela Goodchild drained 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, scoring a career-high 23 points. The Eagles leading scorer, Makayla Dickens, sent the game into overtime and then scored the winning basket at the end of double-overtime.

Duke tallied another ACC win in Cameron Indoor Stadium, taking down Pittsburgh, 74-55. Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki and freshman Miela Goodchild led the Blue Devils, combining for 36 points in the contest. Goodchild drained six from beyond the arc, matching a Duke rookie record. Duke outscored Pitt 22-13 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Haley Gorecki in School Record Books
Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki recorded only the eighth triple-double in program history with her performance Sunday afternoon. Gorecki drained 16 points, and collected 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Gorecki is also the only player in the ACC player averaging 20+ points per game and 6+ rebounds per game against ranked opponents.

Suggs Speaks at Iron Dukes Scholarship Dinner
Senior Faith Suggs spoke at the Iron Duke's Scholarship dinner Friday as she reflected on her Duke career and what she has overcome over her life. Suggs then celebrated her 22nd birthday with a victory over Pitt.

Keeping up with Recruits…
The future Blue Devil made her way onto the court once again after being sidelined with an injury. Patrick’s coach wanted to ease her into play, since she was coming off the injury so her minutes were limited. Patrick fouled out in the fourth quarter, but still ended the game with 15 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block. Patrick played again this past Saturday, and put up 17 points. More info here.
The NJ.com midseason awards for the 2018-19 season had nominated future Blue Devil a leading candidate for Guard of the Year. Baines has been averaging 19.7 points and 10.0 rebounds for Gloucester Catholic this season.
Christmas-Kelly Signing with Minnesota
The Minnesota Lynx signed free agent Karima Christmas-Kelly. Christmas-Kelly has spent the past three seasons with the Dallas Wings, but had her 2018 cut short due to a right knee injury. More info here.
Haley Peters Headlines “Team of the Week” Again
Haley Peters once again leads the way as one of EuroLeague Women’s Week 11 Top Performers. Peters drained 22 points in the first half alone, and ended the contest with 26 points, nine assists, four rebounds, and two blocks. Vote for Peters here
Jessica Foley Starts Her Rugby Season
Former basketball player has traded the court for the field and began her rugby season. Jessica Foley plays for the Adelaide Crows. The team played at Norwood Oval and lost to the Western Bulldogs.
Krystal Thomas, ‘11
Thomas tallied a double-double in her team’s 90-52 victory over the S-Birds. Thomas had 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Chelsea Gray, ‘14
Gray and the No. 2 Cukurova team won Game 2 of the EuroCup Women Round of 16, 83-80, over Besiktas. Gray had 14 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in 29 minutes.
Jasmine Thomas, '11
Thomas collected 16 points and seven assists in an 86-66 victory.
