DURHAM, N.C. – Duke Senior Associate Sports Information Director Lindy Brown has been named the recipient of the 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Achievement Award for the University Division. Brown, who has been at Duke since November of 1999, serves as the primary media contact for the women’s basketball and women’s golf programs.

The CoSIDA Achievement Award is presented annually to an assistant or associate in an athletics media relations office with 10 or more years of service who has made outstanding contributions to the field of college sports information, and who by his or her activities has provided exceptional service and dedication to their institutions or conference office.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., Brown is a 1996 graduate of Western Carolina University where he received a bachelor of science degree in sport management while working in the sports information office. Prior to joining the Duke staff, he served as the sports information director and marketing and promotions coordinator at the University of South Carolina Aiken for three years.
