NAPOLI, Italy – Duke men's basketball rising senior Jack White scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds for his home country of Australia in an 86-69 defeat of Israel in the bronze medal game at the 30th World University Summer Games Thursday in Napoli, Italy.

The Traraglon, Victoria native went four-for-six from the field and gathered eight defensive boards in the Bronze Medal Game. Over the six games in the tournament, White averaged 10.2 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Australia dropped its first game to Israel on July 4, 92-64, but bounced back to win three straight, including wins over Mexico (105-62), Czech Republic (88-59) and Argentina (73-64). Against Argentina, White poured in a team-high 19 points with four rebounds and three assists.

The Aussies narrowly fell to Ukraine in the semifinals, 82-80, but knocked off Israel for the bronze. The United States took home gold after defeating Ukraine in the title game.

White is coming off a junior season where he registered career-highs in all major categories, including points (4.1), rebounds (4.7) and minutes (20.4) per contest. He appeared in career-high 35 games for the Blue Devils last season.
