DURHAM, N.C. – In its final preseason match before opening the regular season, No. 3 Duke hosts rival No. 6 North Carolina on Sunday, Aug. 12 in nighttime showdown at Koskinen Stadium.
Kickoff between the Blue Devils and the Tar Heels is set for 10 p.m. ET. Sunday’s matchup will be the only meeting between the rivals in preseason and regular season competition. This will be just the second year the two will not square off in regular season play, with the other being the Blue Devils’ inaugural campaign in 1988.
Admission for Sunday night’s contest is free. Fans will get their first chance to grab the 2018 Duke women’s soccer schedule poster and will also receive light up devil horns at the marketing tables located at both entrances to the stadium.

Fans will also be able to enter the “Fan of the Game” contest. The winner will receive free tickets to 2018 Countdown to Craziness.
Duke is coming off a 3-0 exhibition victory against the Georgia Bulldogs Thursday night. Kayla McCoy, Tess Boade and Mackenzie Pluck scored for the Blue Devils, with Gabi Brummett, Marykate McGuire and Pluck turning in assists.

Carolina enters Sunday night after defeating NC State, 3-2, in its first exhibition match of the season.
After Sunday night’s matchup, the Blue Devils will turn their attention to Thursday, Aug. 16 when they take on Ohio State at Koskinen in the regular season opener. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
