NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Duke senior linebacker Ben Humphreys has been named one of four finalists for the 15th annual Lott IMPACT Trophy, according to an announcement by the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation.
All four student-athletes represent the qualities embodied by the award: Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
Humphreys joins David Helton (2014) as Duke finalists for the award. As a finalist, Humphreys will attend The Lott IMPACT Trophy Award Banquet, held at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach on December 9. The award show will be hosted by Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt. The recipient will be announced at the banquet, which will be live streamed.
On the field this season, Humphreys, a team captain, has totaled 66 tackles, 5.5 tackles for lost yardage, 1.0 sack, three quarterback pressures, two fumble recoveries, one pass breakup and one caused fumble. He was named third team All-ACC last season.

At Georgia Tech, he registered a year-high 2.0 TFL in helping Duke to a 28-14 victory. Humphreys was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week after Duke’s 21-7 victory at Northwestern, where he booked 15 tackles.
Earlier this fall, Humphreys was named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation William V. Campbell Trophy and finalist for the 9th Annual Pop Warner National College Football Award.
The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will make a $25,000 donation to the general scholarship fund of the winner’s university and $5,000 to each of the schools of the runners-up.
