DURHAM, N.C. – Three former Duke standouts – Joe Giles-Harris, Daniel Helm and Daniel Jones – have been invited to participate at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, set for February 26 – March 4 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Giles-Harris, a 6-2, 240-pound linebacker from Nyack, N.Y., served as a team captain in 2018 and was named the team’s 2017 Most Valuable Player. He played in and started 34 career games with the Blue Devils and compiled 312 tackles, 32.0 tackles for lost yardage, 9.5 sacks, 15 quarterback pressures, one caused fumble and one fumble recovery. An All-America selection in 2017, Giles-Harris earned first team All-ACC honors in both 2017 and 2018 to become the first Duke linebacker with multiple first team all-league accolades since Mike Junkin in 1985-86.

Helm, a 6-4, 255-pound tight end from Chatham, Ill., was a third team All-ACC selection as a senior and finished his Duke career playing in 38 games (24 starts) with 69 receptions for 767 yards (11.12) and six touchdowns. A two-time Academic All-ACC honoree who joined the program in January of 2015 after transferring from the University of Tennessee, Helm is one of two ACC tight ends who have registered 20 or more pass receptions, 200 or more receiving yards and two or more TD catches in each of the last three seasons.

Jones, a 6-5, 220-pound quarterback from Charlotte, N.C., was a two-year captain and two-time team Most Valuable Player with the Blue Devils. He played in and started 36 career games at Duke, completing 764 of 1,275 (.599) passes for 8,201 yards with 52 touchdowns and 29 interceptions while rushing 406 times for 1,323 yards and 17 scores. Jones was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the Reese’s Senior Bowl earlier this month after leading the North squad back from a 12-3 halftime deficit to a 17-12 lead. Jones capped his Duke career by earning Walk-On’s Independence Bowl Offensive Player of the Game honors after leading Duke to a 56-27 win over Temple thanks to a bowl-record 423 passing yards and six total touchdowns (5 passing and 1 rushing).

Giles-Harris, Helm and Jones helped the Blue Devils to 19 victories over the past three seasons including a pair of bowl victories, at the 2017 Quick Lane Bowl and 2018 Walk-On’s Independence Bowl.
