DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt sophomore linebacker Joe Giles-Harris has been named second team All-America by the Walter Camp Foundation, announced on Thursday evening by the organization.
A first team All-ACC pick, Giles-Harris, a 6-2, 230-pound redshirt sophomore from Nyack, N.Y., leads the Blue Devils in tackles (117) and tackles for loss (15.0) while adding 4.5 sacks, one interception, four pass breakups and seven quarterback pressures. He currently leads all ACC linebackers in tackles for loss while ranking third in the league and tied for 20th in the nation in tackles per game (9.75).
Giles-Harris has reached double digits in the tackle column five times this year including a season-best 15 stops against Virginia. He added 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one pass breakup and one caused fumble against the Cavaliers to earn ACC Linebacker of the Week accolades.
In 24 career games at Duke, Giles-Harris has amassed 224 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, two interceptions, one caused fumble, one fumble recovery and 11 quarterback pressures.
Giles-Harris is the 11th Blue Devil to receive Walter Camp Foundation All-America honors. In addition, Giles-Harris is the eighth WCF All-America selection in the David Cutcliffe Era.
