DURHAM, N.C. – As one of the world's most-loved destinations, Italy in an entrancing place rich in art, architecture and history. At the end of the spring semester, the Duke volleyball team took in the home nation of Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci and Galileo, embarking on a nine-day Italian tour.

Between stops in Milan, Lake Como, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence and Rome, the Blue Devils also found time for four matches against top Italian competition.

Rising junior outside hitter Jessi Bartholomew chronicled the team's adventures, giving readers a glimpse into the program's second European excursion.
