DURHAM, N.C. – This weekend’s schedule features a pair of home matches for the Blue Devils as Duke plays host to Clemson and Georgia Tech in Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The Blue Devils (8-7, 2-4 ACC) take on the Tigers (10-9, 1-5 ACC) at 6:30 p.m., Friday, October 12 before battling the Yellow Jackets (12-7, 1-5 ACC) at 1 p.m., Sunday, October 14. ACC Network Extra is set to broadcast both matches available via WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app.

Duke split its past two ACC matches, falling to No. 25 Louisville in straight sets before outlasting Notre Dame in five. Against the Irish, outside hitter Payton Schwantz turned in a career-high 22 kills, hitter/setter Andie Shelton notched her third double-double of the season, and middle blocker Leah Meyer matched her career-high 11 blocks.

As a sophomore, Schwantz has played all six rotations for the Blue Devils and joins freshman Ade Owokoniran as part of Duke’s underclassmen outside hitter duo. Owokoniran has a team-high 159 kills on the season and is on pace to be the first freshman to lead the Blue Devils in kills since Carrie DeMange in 2004.

A graduate student transfer from Pacific, Shelton is one of seven Division I players with three or more triple-doubles this season. Meanwhile, Meyer has continued to bolster her career resume, totaling 141 kills this season while hitting .369 and averaging 1.38 blocks per set.

Clemson ended a six-match losing streak by sweeping Virginia Tech in the Tigers’ last outing. Brooke Bailey leads Clemson with 213 kills.

Duke owns a 40-22 all-time record against Clemson and puts a five-match win streak against the Tigers on the line Friday.

This past weekend, Georgia Tech defeated Clemson in five sets before suffering a straight-set loss to Virginia Tech Friday. Mariana Brambilla is the Yellow Jackets’ top hitter with 261 kills to her credit.

Duke has won two straight against Georgia Tech and leads the all-time series, 45-20.
