DURHAM, N.C. – In the first of seven straight home matches, Duke welcomes UNCG to Cameron Indoor Stadium for a 6:30 p.m., first serve Tuesday, September 4 on ACC Network Extra.
Fresh off a 3-0 weekend at LSU’s Tiger Classic, Duke (3-2, 0-0 ACC) looks to maintain the momentum garnered from its trip to Baton Rouge, La. Head coach Corey Carlin brings his UNCG club into Cameron for the first time since 2016. The Spartans sit at 3-3 on the year following a 1-2 weekend at the Carolina Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C.
One of the oldest series in program history, the Duke-UNCG matchup originates in 1972, the second year of existence at the varsity level for the Blue Devils. Since then, Duke has posted a 19-5 overall mark versus the Spartans, including a string of 18 consecutive victories.
Tuesday’s match kicks off a busy week for the Blue Devils as Cameron also plays host to the Duke Invitational this coming weekend. Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina and East Tennessee State all travel to Durham for Duke’s annual tournament Friday-Saturday, September 7-8.
