DURHAM, N.C. - Senior Maddy Price of the Blue Devil track and field team was named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after turning in an outstanding weekend at the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson, S.C. Price broke the school record in the 200m dash, becoming the first Duke woman to finish in under 24 seconds with a time of 23.73. Her time is the fourth best in the ACC this season. Price also ran the lead leg on the 4x400m relay team that ran a time of 3:38.17, the fourth-fastest time in school history and the fourth best in the ACC. She also qualified for the ACC Championship in the 400m dash, running a season-best 54.18 mark, which is the fifth-fastest in the ACC this season. In a field with eight top-25 teams, Price took 12th place in the 200m, sixth in the 400m and helped Duke finish in seventh in the 4x400m relay.
Price, a four-time All-American, adds to her numerous Duke records. With the 200m record, she also holds the school record in the indoor 4x200m relay and 4x400m relay as well as the outdoor 100m, 200m, 4x200m relay and 4x400m relay. She is in the top five in Duke history in a total of 15 events across the indoor and outdoor seasons.
