Blue Devils on the Glass • Graduate student Amile Jefferson collected a career-high 18 boards, bringing his career total to 784, moving him into 18th on Duke’s all-time career list. • Jefferson’s 18-rebound effort marked his third-straight 10+ rebound game and his seventh of the season. Eleven of Jefferson’s 18 rebounds came on the defensive end, his third-straight game with 10+ defensive boards. • Jefferson’s seven offensive rebounds are the second-most of his career, behind only a pair of eight-offensive rebound performances against Bryant (Nov. 14, 2015) and Kentucky (Nov. 17, 2015). • Freshman Jayson Tatum hauled in a career-high nine rebounds. • Duke held Tennessee State to just three second-chance points, the second-fewest of the season. Teams are averaging just 7.5 second-chance points per game this season.
Duke’s Offensive Output • Sophomore Luke Kennard connected on 7-of-10 (.700) field goal attempts, including 3-of-5 (.600) from beyond the arc, to score a game-high 24 points. Kennard has posted 12 straight games with at least one made three. • Duke is 5-1 this season and 9-4 all-time when Kennard scores 20+ points. • The Blue Devils scored 18 points in the paint against Tennessee State, bringing their season total to 440 points scored in the lane.
