As a Team
• Duke used the starting lineup of Jayson Tatum, Frank Jackson, Luke Kennard, Matt Jones and Amile Jefferson for the first time this season.
• The Blue Devils moved to 88-27 all-time when competing as the fifth-ranked team in the nation.

Coach Krzyzewski’s Numbers
• The result moved head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s all-time record to 1,055-323 and his record at Duke to 982-264.

Blue Devils on the Glass
• Graduate student Amile Jefferson collected 12 boards, bringing his career total to 803, good for the 18th-most rebounds on Duke’s all-time career list.
• Jefferson hauled in double-digit rebounds for the eighth game this season and the 25th time in his career. Duke is 22-3 when Jefferson posts 10+ rebounds in a game.
• Duke outrebounded Virginia Tech, 41-33, the 11th game this season the Blue Devils collected more rebounds than their opponent.
• Freshman Harry Giles collected a career-high eight rebounds, including four on the offensive end.

Duke’s Offensive Output
• Sophomore Luke Kennard connected on 11-of-19 (.579) from the field and 3-of-6 (.500) from beyond the arc, his sixth straight game with at least two made three-pointers. Kennard is shooting 19-of-36 (.528) from three-point range over the team’s last six games.
• Kennard’s 34 points led the Blue Devils, marking seventh game this season he paced Duke’s scoring efforts. Duke is 5-2 this year when he leads the team in scoring. Kennard also scored 20+ points for the eighth time this season and the 15th time in his career, with Duke owning a 7-2 record this season in such games.
• Kennard netted 20-or-more points for the third-straight game, the second time in his career he scored at least 20 points in three consecutive contests.
• Kennard scored over 30 points for the second time this season and the third time in his career.
• The Blue Devils scored 44 points in the paint against Virginia Tech, bringing their season total to 512 points scored in the lane. Forty-four percent of Duke’s points have come in the paint this season.

Duke on the Defensive End
• Senior Matt Jones recorded two steals, his eighth game of the season with at least two takeaways. Jones has also registered at least two steals in four straight games.

Fresh Faces
Jayson Tatum recorded his sixth straight double-digit scoring game, netting 18 points. Tatum added seven rebounds, two shy of a career high.
