DURHAM, N.C. – Senior Kyle Singler scored 31 points and added nine rebounds as No. 1 Duke routed St. Augustine’s, 141-68, in its exhibition opener on Saturday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Andre Dawkins added 20 points off the bench for the Blue Devils, who had seven players score in double figures in their first game since winning the NCAA championship in April. Freshman Kyrie Irving started at point guard and had 17 points for Duke.

Duke scored the first 16 points of the game and led 30-1 by the time the Falcons made their first field goal eight minutes into the first half. The Blue Devils closed the first half on a 12-2 run en route to a 73-25 lead at the break.

Chris Johnson, Jon Kindred and Keith McAllister scored 11 points apiece to lead Saint Augustine's.

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski was honored before the game for leading the U.S. national team to the gold medal at this summer’s FIBA World Championship.
