DURHAM, N.C. – Senior forward Imani Dorsey added another accolade to an already standout 2017 campaign Monday, as she was named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the 11th-ranked Duke Blue Devils to a shutout at No. 3 West Virginia over the weekend.
Dorsey tallied the game-winning goal in Friday night’s 4-0 victory with a shot from 22 yards out to the far right post. That score pushed her goal-scoring streak to six-straight matches, tying the school record set by Casey McCluskey in 2004. She now has a team-high six goals and 13 points on the year, standing tied for first and third in the ACC, respectively.
The Elkridge, Md., native’s efforts helped push the Blue Devils to their sixth-consecutive victory, the longest streak since winning seven straight in 2011. It also snapped a two-match losing skid to the Mountaineers and ended WVU’s streak of 43-straight home matches without a loss in regulation.
Duke is back home tonight for a 7 p.m. ET tilt against No. 21 Utah at Koskinen Stadium. Fans can catch the broadcast on ACC Network Extra by going to WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app.
