GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the third time this season, Duke University fifth-year senior Lexie Brown has been selected ACC Player of the Week, after impressive outings against ninth-ranked Florida State and North Carolina in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Brown helped lead Duke to a 2-0 record on the week and into the top four seeds of the ACC Tournament. She averaged an impressive 26.0 points, 7.0 assists, 4.5 steals and 3.5 rebounds.
The Blue Devils knocked off ninth-ranked Florida State live on national television Monday behind a game-high 30 points, five steals, three rebounds and three assists. The 30 points by the 5-9 guard was the most against a top 10 team in school history. Brown hit 12-of-19 field goals and 4-of-8 three-pointers as she played the entire 40 minutes and had only one turnover.
To close the regular season against arch-rival North Carolina on senior day Sunday, Brown notched 22 points, a season-high 11 assists, four steals and four rebounds. She also continued her ACC-best streak of 28 straight contests with at least one three-pointer.
For the week, Brown hit 54.1 percent of her field goals and had only four turnovers in 77 minutes of play.
Brown featured a few milestones during the week as well as she reached the 2,000-point mark of her career, became the third Duke player to notch 100 steals in a season and is now the only player in NCAA Division I with over 2,000 points, 200 three-pointers, 500 assists and 300 steals.
