DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke women’s basketball team celebrated the last day of classes this past week. As the student-athletes get ready to take on finals week, it’s time to check out what Blue Devil alums across the globe are doing.

Bridgette Mitchell Named Assistant Coach

The 2010 Duke graduate was recently tabbed as the women’s basketball assistant coach at Pittsburgh. Mitchell competed in 131 games as a Blue Devil and led the 2010 ACC Championship team to an Elite Eight appearance. She was named All-ACC Academic Team as a senior and was tabbed ACC Honor Roll three times. Her senior season, Mitchell was averaging 8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.1 assists.

Taste for a Cure Gala

On Sunday, at the Taste for a Cure Gala with Polka Dot Mama, Coach P was honored with a grant in her name for melanoma research and the surgeon general was in attendance.

Duke Overseas…

Elizabeth Williams, ‘15

Williams, with a double-double, led Botas to a two-point victory over Mersin BSB, 64-62. Williams was MVP of the game with 24 points and 12 boards, also adding two blocks.


Chelsea Gray, ‘14

Gray and Cukurova defeated Botas, recording 16 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. The final score was 74-50.

Jasmine Thomas, ‘11

Thomas and Polkowice defeated seventh-ranked AZS Gorzow, 90-70. Thomas was MVP of the contest with 21 points, five boards, and five assists. She was perfect from the free throw line.


Haley Peters, ‘14

Peters’ 18 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals were not enough to push Flammes against Roche. The team was defeated 71-60 on the road.


Oderah Chidom, ‘17

Chidom and Dafni Agioy were defeated, 79-76, by Panionios. Chidom contributed 16 points, nine boards, and nine assists.
