Scheer Earns Defensive Honors in Australia

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University alumna Kathleen Scheer capped an outstanding season in Australia with the Hobart Chargers with some very impressive hardware recently. Scheer, who is a 2012 Blue Devil graduate, earned the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) Defensive Player of the Year, while also earning All-SEABL first team accolades.

Scheer, who just completed her fifth season in Australia, is coming off averaging 18.0 points, 11.2 rebound and 3.0 blocks. She finished first in the league in blocks and second in defensive rebounds.

In five seasons in Australia, she owns career averages of 18.6 points and 9.5 rebounds in 115 contests. Scheer has been selected to the All-SEABL team for the fifth year in a row.
