DURHAM, N.C. – As WNBA training camps kick off, a total of nine Duke women’s basketball alumnae will hit the hardwood this week looking to earn coveted spots on WNBA teams.

Looking to make a WNBA team from Duke include Elizabeth Williams (Atlanta Dream), Jasmine Thomas (Connecticut Sun), Lexie Brown (Connecticut Sun), Karima Christmas-Kelly (Dallas Wings), Alana Beard (Los Angeles Sparks), Chelsea Gray (Los Angeles Sparks), Mistie Bass (Los Angeles Sparks), Monique Currie (Washington Mystics) and Krystal Thomas (Washington Mystics).

The WNBA will tip off its 22nd season Friday, May 18, but first preseason action will kick off May 6-13.

Duke alumnae are coming off impressive seasons in the WNBA as Jasmine Thomas and Williams were WNBA All-Star selections, while Beard earned WNBA Defensive Player of the Year and Jasmine Thomas was named to the WNBA All-Defensive team. Beard and Gray were runner-up in the WNBA finals, after leading the Sparks to the championship in 2016.

Throughout the 2018 season, ESPN Networks will air up to 33 games, including 13 regular-season contests, Verizon WNBA All-Star and every game of the postseason. All ESPN telecasts will also stream live on the ESPN app.

The 2018 WNBA regular season will run from Friday, May 18 through Sunday, Aug. 19. For information about game tickets, visit WNBA.com/tickets.
