DURHAM, N.C.-- As the Duke women’s basketball squad begins the final stretch of the regular season, here is a quick look at some of the former Blue Devils whose seasons overseas are just beginning to heat up.
Lexie Brown – Duke ‘18

Recent alum Lexie Brown has kicked off her professional basketball career with an impressive record as a starting member of Hungary’s UNI Gyor. To Blue Devil fans experienced with Brown’s scoring abilities, it comes as no surprise that she leads her squad in points in both Hungarian League play (15.9) and Eurocup play (13.8). Brown also puts in work on the defensive end of the game, leading the team in steals in both leagues as well (1.8; 17). In UNI Gyor’s recent victory over Beac Ujbuda (100-76), Brown had a dominant performance, playing for 25 minutes to record 23 points, four assists, and two rebounds. Brown and her squad take on Miskolc on February 9 next.
Oderah Chidom – Duke ‘17
Dafni Agioy (Greece), 6-12
2018-19 Stats: 11 games, 16.4 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 2.3 APG, 1.5 SPG, 2.3 BPG, 35.8 MPG
A starting player for Greece’s Dafni Agioy, Oderah Chidom has recorded team-high stats in her first season with the squad. Chidom leads on the court in points (16.4), blocks (2.3), and rebounds (10.5). She has recorded five double-doubles on the court for Dafni Agioy. Chidom met her season high points in her performance on January 27 against Panionios, posting 25 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. In six of her 11 appearances, Chidom has notched over 10 rebounds, with a season high 17 rebounds occurring in her last performance against Sporting. Dafni Agioy and Chidom will be back in action on February 10 when they compete against Esperides.
Kendall Cooper – Duke ‘17

2018-19 Stats: 12 games, 8.3 PPG, 4.3 RPG, 0.8 APG, 1.5 SPG, 0.8 BPG, 19.3 MPG
Kendall Cooper has begun the 2018-19 season as a new member of France’s COB Calais. As a starting member of the squad, Cooper has seen action in 11 games and averages 8.2 points and 3.9 rebounds. Her season high points (18) came earlier this year as she contributed to her squad’s tight victory over Aulnoye (71-68). Cooper has nabbed five or more rebounds in six of her appearances, boasting a season high of eight which she recorded in her most recent performance against Chartres. COB Calais and Cooper compete next against Montbrison on February 9.
Chelsea Gray – Duke ‘14

Chelsea Gray is a member of Turkey’s Cukurova team and has seen action in both Turkish league play and EuroCup play. She averages 10.7 and 11.0 points, as well as 4.7 and 6.0 assists in Turkish league play and Eurocup play, respectively. Gray’s most impressive performance came recently when her team took on Besiktas in the second round of the 1/16 finals of EuroCup play. She notched 14 points, six rebounds, and seven assists to contribute to her team’s tight victory (83-80) and their sweep of the Besiktas series. Gray and her squad will now move on to the 1/8 finals against Wisla Krakow, which will begin on February 14.
Erin Mathias – Duke ‘18

Another recent Blue Devil graduate, Erin Mathias has begun her professional career with a dominant role on Italy’s Empoli. A starting player who has seen action in all 15 contests, Mathias leads the team in points (12.4), rebounds (8.9), and blocks (0.6). She has recorded five double-doubles so far this season, with season highs of 26 points and 14 rebounds. In a recent performance, Mathias posted 15 points and eight rebounds, a valiant effort to keep her team alive in what would end as a loss. Mathias and Empoli compete next on February 10 when they take on Battipaglia.
Haley Peters – Duke ‘14

Haley Peters has begun her career on a new French professional team, Flammes, for the 2018-19 season after playing for France’s Lyon last season. Seeing action as a starting player in both French league play and Euroleague play, Peters leads the team in average points scored for both leagues (14.6; 17.5). She also leads Euroleague play in rebounds, averaging 5.5 boards. In her most recent performance, Peters recorded her first double-double of the season, with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Peters competes next on February 9 against Hainaut.
Angela Salvadores – Duke (2015-16)

Angela Salvadores has joined Spain’s Ensino roster for the 2018-19 international season. She co-leads the team in points scored (14.3) with teammate Atonye Nyingifa and also averages 4.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Salvadores’ most dominant performance came on December 30 when she tallied 23 points, six rebounds, nine assists, and five steals. Her contributions on both ends of the court led her team to a 94-76 victory over Al-Qazeres. Salvadores will take the court next on February 9 when her squad takes on Avenida.
Kathleen Scheer – Duke ‘12
Dynamo Novosibirsk Region (Russia), 4-13
2018-19 Stats: 3 games, 4.7 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 1.7 APG, 0.3 SPG, 1.3 BPG, 53.3 MPG
After competing last season in Australia, Kathleen Scheer has taken her talents to Russia and joined Dynamo NR’s roster. Scheer has seen action in three games and leads the team in average minutes played (53.3). On average, she contributes 4.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. In her debut performance with the team, Scheer notched eight points, six rebounds, and two assists to contribute to a 62-57 victory over Spartak Noginsk. Dynamo NR competes next on February 10 against Dynamo Kursk.
Jasmine Thomas – Duke ‘11

Jasmine Thomas starts for Poland’s CCC Polkowice after spending her 2017-18 season on Turkey’s OGM Orman. She leads the team in assists in Polish league play, dishing out an average of 5.6 assists per game. Thomas averages 8.2 points in Polish league play and 9.8 points in Euroleague play. She has recorded points in the double digits in 13 appearances across both leagues, tallying a season high of 18 points earlier in January versus UMMC Ekaterinburg in Euroleague play. Her squad has upcoming matches in both leagues, competing in a Euroleague match on February 7 and a Polish league match on February 10.
Chloe Wells – Duke ‘14

Chloe Wells is a member of the Nymburk squad, where she has seen action in a combined 22 games in both the Czech Republic’s league play and EuroCup play. She leads the team in points (14.4; 20.4), assists (3.1; 4.8), and steals (3.3; 3.3) in both leagues. Wells has scored 15 or more points in all eight of her appearances in EuroCup play and in five contests in Czech play. She tallied a season high 28 points in a victory against SBS Ostrava (84-68). In a recent performance against Sokol HK, Wells grabbed a season high 10 boards and scored 22 points. Nymburk and Wells will be back in action on February 9 when they compete against Slovanka MB.
Elizabeth Williams – Duke ‘15

Elizabeth Williams is a new member of Turkey’s Botas for the 2018-19 season after playing for both China’s Liaoning Hengye and as a member of the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA last season. She leads the team in points (14.0) in Turkish league play, as well as rebounds in both leagues (7.3; 7.7). Williams has recorded three doubles this season, with the most recent one occurring in the first round of EuroCup playoffs. She notched 24 points, 15 rebounds, and two assists, contributing greatly to a hard-fought loss to MBA (77-76). Williams and her squad compete next on February 9, when they meet Canik Belediye in Turkish league play.
