DURHAM, N.C. – Duke University incoming freshmen Megan Furtney and Erica Shepherd are set to see action in the 2019 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship July 22-27 at the 6,307-yard, par 72 SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wis.

A field of 156 golfers will compete in action starting Monday, July 22 with the first of two 18-hole stroke play rounds. Following 36 holes of stroke play Monday and Tuesday, the field will be reduced to 64 golfers for match play. The round of 64 of match play will take place July 24, followed by the round of 32 and round of 16 on Thursday, July 25. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be held Friday, July 26. A 36-hole championship final will take place Saturday, July 27.

Both Furtney and Shepherd won a USGA championship earlier in 2019 as the duo won the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball title on May 1. Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., also claimed the U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship in 2017 with a 3&2 victory over Jennifer Chang.

Furtney will tee off Monday beginning at 12:48 p.m., off hole No. 1, while Shepherd will open play at 12:59 p.m., off hole No. 10. In the second round, Furtney will tee off at 7:33 a.m., off No. 10 and Shepherd will go off at 7:44 a.m., on No. 1.

The semifinal and championship matches will be aired on FS1. On July 26, the semifinals will be aired from 1-3 p.m., and the championship will be shown on FS1 July 27 from 1-3 p.m.
