DURHAM, N.C. – For its next-to-last weekend of the regular season, the Duke rowing team will make its second of three trips to Clemson this year, visiting for the Clemson Invitational. The two-day event begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday on Lake Hartwell. A total of 21 teams will be participating in the invitational.
For the second consecutive weekend, Duke will send its V8, 2V8, 3V8, V4 and 2V4 into competition. All five boats will take part in Saturday’s morning and afternoon sessions, with lanes and opponents predetermined.
Sunday’s finals, which also begin at 8:30 a.m., will be determined with the results from Saturday. The results Sunday will be using the NCAA point schedule to determine an overall Clemson Invitational Champion.
In this year’s first trip to Clemson, Duke swept the Carolina Cup scrimmage with victories by the V8, 2V8, V4, 2V4 and 3V8. Following the event, the V8 was named the ACC Crew of the Week.
The Blue Devils return to action next Saturday with the Dale England Cup in Bloomington, Ind.
