DURHAM, N.C. – Head coach Chris Pollard and the Duke baseball program are pleased to announce the addition of right-handed pitcher Ethan DeCaster to the 2018 Blue Devil roster.

A 2017 graduate of Creighton University, DeCaster is set to enroll in the Fuqua School of Business’ Master of Management Studies program.

“Ethan DeCaster has distinguished himself as one of the top relief pitchers in the country over the past two seasons," said Pollard. "He combines a really difficult arm angle with a fearless competitive spirit. He brings experience, big time pitchability, tremendous mound presence, and toughness to the back end of our bullpen.”

DeCaster collected 2017 All-BIG EAST Second Team honors this past seasons, posting a 4-2 record with four saves in 24 appearances. The Shoreview, Minn., native finished the year with a 1.77 ERA, allowing nine earned runs over 45.2 innings. He struck out 36 batters and walked 12.

As a sophomore in 2016, he made 26 relief appearances with two saves. After redshirting the 2014 campaign, DeCaster finished the following season with a 3-2 record and 2.73 ERA and two saves.
