DURHAM, N.C. – In a matchup of top 25 teams, No. 14 Duke hits the road for the second straight weekend, traveling to Tallahassee, Fla., for a three-game series against No. 12 Florida State Friday-Sunday, April 13-15.
Despite dropping its first series since opening weekend, Duke (28-7, 10-5) remains atop the ACC Coastal Division standings entering the weekend. After Wake Forest handed the Blue Devils a series loss Monday evening, the Blue Devils responded with a 5-0 shutout victory over Davidson in midweek action.
The Blue Devils rank among the nation’s top 25 for the fifth straight week, earning top 10 distinction in three polls: Baseball America (No. 10), Collegiate Baseball (No. 4) and Perfect Game (No. 10).
Florida State (24-10, 8-7 ACC) fell in a three-game series at Georgia Tech this past weekend before a 6-3 midweek setback against top-ranked Florida this past Tuesday.
Duke looks to shift the momentum in a series slanted in the Seminoles’ favor. FSU leads Duke 79-21 all-time, including a 42-7 advantage in Tallahassee. The two teams met just once in 2017, a 5-1 Seminole victory in the ACC Championship semifinals. Duke came out on top in the squads’ previous series, taking 2-of-3 from Florida State at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in 2016.
The Blue Devils are set to send sophomore left-hander Adam Laskey to the hill Friday and senior lefty Mitch Stallings Saturday. Sunday’s starter is yet to be determined. Florida State counters with RHP Cole Sands, LHP Drew Parrish and RHP Andrew Karp.
Single-game tickets for this weekend’s game are $7 for adults and $5 for youth ages 5-18. Saturday’s game is officially sold out.
