DURHAM, N.C. – With two weeks remaining in the regular season, No. 13 Duke is set for a showdown against No. 4 North Carolina Friday-Sunday, May 11-13 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The two ACC Coastal Division leaders square off in the series opener at 6 p.m., Friday, May 11, resume the series at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 12 and conclude the weekend at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 13. ACC Network Extra is set to broadcast all three contests.
Both teams have already clinched spots in the 2018 ACC Championship as North Carolina (33-14, 18-6 ACC) currently holds a 2.5-game lead over Duke (36-11, 15-8 ACC) and owns the tops conference mark heading into the weekend. The Blue Devils have won five straight games and hold the best overall record in the conference.
One of the oldest series in program history, Duke and North Carolina first met on the diamond in 1891. The Tar Heels lead the all-time series, 182-102-3.
Duke enters the weekend ranked second in the league in ERA and first in WHIP. The Blue Devils are set to send LHP Mitch Stallings, RHP Ryan Day and LHP Adam Laskey to the mound. Winners of nine of its past 10 games, UNC counters with RHP Cooper Criswell, RHP Austen Bergner and RHP Tyler Baum.
Single-game tickets for this weekend’s game are $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for youth (ages 3-17) and seniors (65+), and free for children under two. Duke employees may purchase tickets for $5.00 as part of employee appreciation month. Free parking is available on the streets adjacent to the DBAP. Free parking may also be available in the nearby parking decks, however, parking availability is contingent about the day of the week and other concurrent events in downtown Durham.
