DURHAM, N.C. – Following a school-record 45-win season, head coach Chris Pollard and the Duke baseball program now welcome the 2019 recruiting class. First baseman/outfielder Britt Fuller is one of 12 future Blue Devils to sign a National Letter of Intent.
“Britt Fuller brings a big, athletic left-handed bat to the program,” said Pollard. “He also brings a lot of toughness. He’s a very good high school football player and he brings that middle-linebacker mentality. We like his hit tool and his ability to generate offense. He’s a good runner for his size.”
Hailing from Charlotte, N.C., Fuller is four-year letterwinner at Charlotte Latin School. Named team MVP as a junior, the 6-3 lefty hit .426, slugged .738 and posted a .563 on-base percentage in 21 games this past season. He also added five home runs, two doubles and 23 RBI while going 10-for-12 on stolen base attempts.
During his time at Charlotte Latin, Fuller also led the Hawks to the NCISAA Division II state Championship in football, earning second team all-conference honors as a linebacker.
A Perfect Game Underclass All-American High Honorable Mention selection, Fuller is rated PG’s No. 456 overall prospect and No. 12 first baseman in the 2019 recruiting class. In addition, the organization also lists Fuller as the No. 19 overall prospect and No. 1 first baseman in the state of North Carolina.
Fuller is part of Duke’s 12-member 2019 recruiting class along with LHP Michael Foltz (Myrtle Beach, N.C.), RHP Marcus Johnson (Fontana, Calif.), INF/RHP Thomas Keehn (Highland, Md.), LHP Clark Klitenic (Bethesda, Md.), C Chad Knight (Westport, Conn.), INF Grant Norris (Somerset, Pa.), INF Graham Pauley (Milton, Ga.), RHP Billy Seidl (Wellesley, Mass.), OF Sam Siani (Glendale, Pa.), RHP Colten Smith (Colmar, Pa.) and RHP Henry Williams (Darien, Conn.). GoDuke.com is set to release details on all 12 of the newest Blue Devils in the coming weeks.
